I have experience of teaching in multicultural inner city schools.  Both in North and South London

I have sound knowledge of the National Curriculum, and I teach many subjects, such as: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, ICT,  Art, Music, P.E., R.E., French and PSHE.

I have a sound knowledge of the foundation stage, because I've taught the Nursery age and the Reception age.

I have an excellent understanding of the Literacy and Numeracy hour, which I received training in 1999, and then again on the Return to Teaching course in 2008.  I've done up to date planning and teaching of the Literacy and Numeracy hour and the other foundation subjects in 2009.

I always plan my pupils work according to the attainment targets, and oragnise assessment accordingly.

I have a commitment to equal opportunities, and I make it a point to allow my pupils to share thier cultures and customs in class, and to be proud of their work.  I always ensure that there are positive role models and positive representations of all cultures in the classroom.  I make provision for bilingual learners, and include EMA work in my planning and teaching.

There is also provision for EAL & SEN pupils and the gifted and talented.

I enjoy teaching ICT, because it's so useful in teaching and presentation of my pupils work.  Using ICT in lessons give pupils confidence who find writing difficult.

The whole class can participate and interact, and also grasp the concept  more quicker.

I've had the curriculum responsibility for Science, Year group singing sessions & Raising Educational Standards in English.

My planning always include clear learning Objectives and Success Criteria with differention of levels.

I keep records of pupil's progress to use at progress meetings, and to help set targets, and writing end of year reports.

I'm very flexialbe, and my main objectives are to make sure that my pupils achieve their highest potential in either creative, or academic subjects.

I'm very experienced at planning my own day, and working with autonomy, and managing my own work load efficiently.  I know how to work to deadlines.  I am self-motivated and use my professional expertise, knowledge and skills to encourage those who I teach.

I know how to co-ordinate, and start a project from scratch and see it through to the end and completion.

I have a commitment to my professional development, which I believe helps my competency to be able to deliver good learning and teaching.

During the past year, I've learned power point to improve my ICT skills to start off lessons and the use of explanation of a new concept.

 

The areas which I concentrate on are: Story Writing, Poem Writng, ICT with the use of Interactive White Board so that the class can participate and interact with me while I teach, so it will be quicker for them to grasp the concept I'm teaching.

Also Dictionary work, Grammar, comprehension, and composition.
